About the inlet pressure of the PSA nitrogen generator

2019-02-28

Customers often ask about the air pressure required by the nitrogen generator. The following is a detailed introduction :

The best working pressure of the PSA(pressure swing adsorption) nitrogen generator is about 0.8MPa.

According to the principle of PSA nitrogen generator, because there are many uniform small hole on the surface of carbon molecules sieve, the pore size is between the oxygen molecule and the nitrogen molecule volume. When the air is with pressure, the small oxygen molecules are drilled into the small hole of the carbon molecular sieve surface. and the bulky nitrogen molecules cannot be drilled in, and the pure nitrogen gas flows out after the aggregation. When the air pressure is 0.8Mpa, it is the normal working pressure of the carbon molecular sieve. The production capacity of the general nitrogen generator is designed according to the air pressure of 0.8Mpa.

When the inlet pressure is 0.8~1.0MPa, the molecular sieve adsorption performance of the nitrogen generator is better, and the gas production of nitrogen is larger, but the pressure standard for the container is increased:

When the inlet pressure is 0.7~0.8MPa, the nitrogen generator can work normally:

When the inlet pressure is 0.6~0.7MPa, the gas production capacity of the nitrogen generator will decrease:

When the intake pressure is below 0.6, the gas production capacity of the nitrogen generator will decrease significantly:

Of course, we can also specialize in low-pressure nitrogen generators. When the intake pressure is lower than 0.6MPa, the nitrogen generator can also achieve the rated gas production capacity.
